Zhineng Qigong Development Centre was established in 2003 in Penang, Malaysia. The centre strives to teach the mind-body practice and philosophy of Zhineng Qigong in its ‘pure’, original form as created by Dr. Pang Ming. Zhineng Qigong distils the essence of classic Qigong forms and makes Qigong accessible and easy to learn so that anybody can enjoy its benefits. Through the practice of Zhineng Qigong, our members use their mind-consciousness to cultivate Qi and enhance their health and wellbeing.
Currently, we have over 200 members practicing regularly at the Centre; as a result, the Qi field at our centre is extremely strong and conducive to healing. To date, the centre has taught Zhineng Qigong to over 1,900 people and over 5,000 patients have received Qi healing therapy at the centre.
The centre is conveniently located on Bell Road in the Pulau Tikus area of Georgetown, Penang, only an approximately 5-minute drive from Gurney Drive. With ample indoor and outdoor space for classes and practice sessions, the centre provides members and students with a spacious and relaxing environment in which to learn, share and practice. There is free parking within the premises and we also offer basic accommodations for visitors who wish to stay and learn at our centre.
Our centre is staffed by a team of dedicated individuals: our teacher, Master Zhen Qingchuan (“Zhen Laoshi”), Teresa Tai and Thor laoshi (Finance and Administration), Sara Low and Ah Hui (Training and Development), Soh Aik Leng (Resources), and Dorothy Khoo and Lye Yue Jing (Communications). Most courses at the centre are personally conducted by Zhen Laoshi, our resident Qigong physician. Occasionally, we invite other Qigong masters from China to conduct seminars and provide our members with additional resources and perspectives.
Our Teacher Zhen Qingchuan, affectionately known as “Zhen laoshi”, believes in teaching Zhineng Qigong in its pure, original form as taught to him by Grandmaster Pang Ming, the founder of Zhineng Qigong.
Zhen was born in 1973 in Hebei province, China. At age seventeen, he began learning and practicing Zhineng Qigong. In September 1993, at the age of 20, Zhen became one of the youngest students to be accepted into the exclusive teacher training course at Huaxia Institute. There, he enjoyed the rare privilege of being personally taught by grandmaster Pang Ming himself. (Of the over six million Zhineng Qigong practitioners in China, only eight hundred have undertaken this teacher training course; of this eight hundred, only two hundred were personally taught by Pang Ming.)
At the Huaxia Institute, Zhen studied and researched Qigong science, Qigong methods of healing, Qigong's effects on health and intelligence, western medicine, Chinese medicine, psychology, and philosophy.
After graduating from the Huaxia Institute in 1995, at the age of 22, Zhen was offered a position at the Huaxia Recovery Centre. There, Zhen conducted “recovery courses” teaching Zhineng Qigong to students to help them recover from illnesses. In this way, Zhen treated approximately 20,000 patients, successfully alleviating chronic conditions for 90% of his students and bringing about complete recovery in 30% of cases. Zhen is known for his extraodinary gift for Qi healing. For example, Zhen is particularly effective in helping patients with tumors, kidney stones, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, gastrointestinal conditions, backaches and leg pains.
In 2001, due to the Chinese government's problems with Falun Gong, all practices involving gatherings of more than 50 persons were categorically banned in China. Since thousands gathered at the Huaxia Centre, the Centre had to be closed and practitioners were dispersed. Thereafter, Zhen moved to Penang, Malaysia to continue advancing Zhineng Qigong. In 2003, Zhen established the Zhineng Development Centre and in Oct 2006, the centre moved to its current location at 10 Bell Road. To date, Zhen’s Zhineng Development Centre has been visited by people from foreign countries who have come to the centre to learn Qigong or receive Qi healing therapy from Zhen. We have students and patients from: America, England, Holand, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
In February 2006, Zhen was invited to Sydney, Australia, to teach Qigong and provide Qi healing at various community centres. He spoke at seminars to introduce Zhineng Qigong, conducted classes to teach the Lift QI Method to over 100 people, and provided Qi healing treatment to over 180 Australians.
In June 2006, Zhen was invited to Sri Lanka for 3 weeks. He introduced the La Qi technique and provided Qi healing treatment to over 800 people at various locations including: The Oba Mama Children Village in Matara and Kelaniya University’s Ayurveda Institute and Gampaha Wickramach Ayurvedic Hospital in Yakkala.
